Youth Aspire Figure Skating

Southside Aspire Program

In partnership with the Lake Effect Figure Skating Club and Southside Skating School, our Aspire program offers skaters an affordable and comprehensive figure skating curriculum in a safe and supportive group training environment.

With certified coaches - we are the ONLY US Figure Skating Aspire program in the Grand Rapids area

THE ASPIRE PROGRAM IS FOR SKATERS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE BASIC SKILLS CURRICULUM AND ARE WORKING ON:

  • Basic 6, Aspire 1-4, Excel
  • COMPETING OR TESTING ANY SINGLE JUMP LEVELS

Cost and Registration

 

$300 for 10 weeks

Skaters will have 70 minutes of on ice instruction.  Everyone will skate from 6:45-7:35 together, and then skaters depending on level will join us for the moves time that applies to their level. See below breakdown:

  • Aspire Pre-preliminary Moves 6:25-6:45 (for skaters who have not taken a USFSA test yet)
  • YOUTH Aspire On Ice 6:45-7:35pm (Freeskate spins and jumps)
  • Aspire Preliminary/Pre-Bronze Moves 7:35-8pm (For skaters who have passed pre-pre skating skills test)

Membership to the Lake Effect Figure Skating Club is required to participate.  New to membership? You can access that registration HERE.  
  • First year new skaters can select Introductory Member for a discounted rate

What to Wear

On-Ice Dress Information:
  • Please dress warmly with gloves and layers.
  • Comfortable and stretchy athletic wear is required. Please avoid jeans or baggy clothing.
  • Skaters should have their own figure skates
Off-Ice Dress Information:
  • Skaters may bring a water bottle
  • Hair in a ponytail
  • Supportive athletic shoes

On-Ice Curriculum

The Aspire program is for skaters who have completed the Basic skills curriculum and are working on:

  • LTSUSA Freeskate levels
  • Competing or testing any single jump levels
