Southside Aspire Program
In partnership with the Lake Effect Figure Skating Club and Southside Skating School, our Aspire program offers skaters an affordable and comprehensive figure skating curriculum in a safe and supportive group training environment.
With certified coaches - we are the ONLY US Figure Skating Aspire program in the Grand Rapids area
THE ASPIRE PROGRAM IS FOR SKATERS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE BASIC SKILLS CURRICULUM AND ARE WORKING ON:
- Basic 6, Aspire 1-4, Excel
- COMPETING OR TESTING ANY SINGLE JUMP LEVELS
Cost and Registration
$120 for 6 weeks group training conducted by experienced and certified coaches.
Off-Ice (Jumps, Spins, Strength, and Flexibility) 6:10-6:35pm
On Ice - 6:40-7:25pm
Membership to the Lake Effect Figure Skating Club is required to participate starting July 1. New to membership? You can access that registration HERE.
- New skaters can select Introductory Member for a discounted rate ($55 intro membership is a first year only instead of full membership rate of $115)
What are the membership benefits:
- Access to LEFSC Holiday and Spring show! (skater participation cost is extra)
- Annual members banquet
- Special events, exhibitions, and club gathering



What to Wear
On-Ice Dress Information:
- Please dress warmly with gloves and layers.
- Comfortable and stretchy athletic wear is required. Please avoid jeans or baggy clothing.
- Skaters should have their own figure skates
Off-Ice Dress Information:
- Skaters may bring a water bottle
- Hair in a ponytail
- Supportive athletic shoes
On-Ice Curriculum
The Aspire program is for skaters who have completed the Basic skills curriculum and are working on:
- LTSUSA Freeskate levels
- Competing or testing any single jump levels
